This unconfined compression test mold is used for specimen preparation in mix design and strength testing of stabilized inorganic binder soils (fine soil, medium soil, coarse soil) for pavement construction, and also for verifying whether pavement structural strength meets requirements. It is common molding equipment for highway engineering laboratories and quality inspection institutions.
Working Principle: The prepared stabilized inorganic binder soil is loaded into the mold in layers. Compaction tests determine the optimum moisture content and maximum dry density of the mixture, forming standard cylindrical specimens for unconfined compressive strength and other mechanical property testing.

Calibration Method:
Measure mold height at 3 points
Check inner surface flatness with steel ruler and feeler gauge
Measure top and bottom inner diameters with digital caliper (2 points per direction)
Preparation Steps:
Take representative air-dried soil sample, crush with wooden hammer without damaging original particle size
Sieve and classify by soil type
Determine air-dried moisture content
Weigh dry soil for specimen (approx. 5~6kg for 150mm specimen)
Load into mold in layers, compact
Demold for strength testing
Available in different specifications: different specimen sizes (Φ150×150mm, Φ100×100mm, etc.) and different wall thicknesses (10mm, 14mm, 16mm, etc.) to suit various soil types and testing standards.
