Product Features & Attributes
This reflectance meter is used for paint hiding power determination and reflectance measurement, widely applied in coatings, printing, paper, textile, aerospace, automotive and parts industries. It is ideal testing equipment for coating and surface treatment quality control.
Working Principle: The probe illuminates the test surface and receives reflected light signals. Through photoelectric conversion and data processing, the reflectance value is displayed. With black and white standard plate calibration, measure RB value (black substrate reflectance) and Rw value (white substrate reflectance), calculate the contrast ratio (RB/Rw) to evaluate paint hiding power.
Structure:
Main unit: Digital display with calibration knob
Probe: Photoelectric sensor
Black standard plate: For zero calibration
White standard plate: For standard value calibration
Technical Features:
Measuring range 0~100% for common reflectance testing needs
Repeatability 0.3%, indication error ±1 for reliable data
15~20 minute warm-up, simple operation
Dual standard plate calibration for accuracy
Calibration tolerance ±0.1
Operation Steps:
Connect probe to main unit, power on, warm up 15~20 min
Black plate calibration: Adjust to 00.0 (±0.1)
White plate calibration: Adjust to white plate standard value (±0.1)
Repeat 2~3 times until calibration is satisfied
Measure RB value (specimen on black ceramic plate)
Measure Rw value (specimen on white ceramic plate)
Calculate contrast ratio = RB/Rw
Precautions:
Place probe on black standard plate between tests to avoid light fatigue
Specimen preparation should strictly follow relevant standard requirements
Calibrate frequently, tolerance ±0.1
Available in different specifications: different measuring ranges (0-100%, 0-200%, etc.), different accuracy grades (0.3%, 0.1%, etc.), and different power supply options (220V, 110V) to suit various industries and testing standards.
Mainly used in paint manufacturers, printing and packaging companies, paper manufacturers, textile and printing companies, quality inspection institutions, research universities, and more for paint hiding power and surface reflectance testing.
