The prebored pressuremeter (Menard type) features a tricell probe design with a central measuring cell and two guard cells. A borehole is drilled to the test depth, and the probe is lowered. The control unit pressurizes the measuring cell, expanding the rubber membrane against the borehole wall while the guard cells expand at the same pressure to ensure plane strain conditions. Pressure and volume changes are recorded to plot a pressure-volume curve, from which creep pressure, limit pressure, and pressuremeter modulus are determined. The system consists of the pressuremeter probe, pressure control unit, volume measurement system, and high-pressure tubing. A digital recorder is optional for automatic data acquisition. Rugged construction for harsh field environments.
