The Non-Nuclear Density Gauge is a non-destructive testing instrument utilizing electromagnetic method or Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) for rapid on-site determination of density and moisture content in soils, asphalt mixtures, and subgrade materials. Unlike traditional nuclear density gauges, the non-nuclear density gauge contains no radioactive source, eliminating the need for radiation safety licenses, special training, or dedicated transport and storage measures, making it safe and convenient to use.
The device emits high-frequency electromagnetic waves, measures the reflection and transmission characteristics of materials, and calculates wet density, dry density, compaction degree, and porosity using built-in algorithms. Testing time is only 3-5 seconds with accuracy of wet density ±(0-2%), moisture content ±(0-3%). Compliant with international standards including ASTM D6780, ASTM D7830, and AASHTO T343, it is widely used in highway engineering, airport construction, embankment projects, and asphalt pavement quality control .
