This Hegman gauge (fineness gauge, grindometer) is used to determine the dispersion fineness of pigments and impurities in paints, pastes, inks and other liquids or pastes. It is common quality control testing equipment in paints, inks, plastics, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, food and other industries.
Working Principle: Place the sample at the bottom of the groove on the fineness gauge. Draw the scraper from the bottom of the groove at the appropriate angle and speed. Observe the scale position where significant speckling appears on the sample surface. The reading indicates the depth of grinding particles at the discernible level.

Four Range Specifications Available:
0-25μm: For high fineness samples, scale division 2.5μm
0-50μm: For medium fineness samples, scale division 5μm
0-100μm: For general fineness samples, scale division 10μm
0-150μm: For coarse particle samples, scale division 10μm
Operation Steps:
Ensure sample is dry and clean, place at groove bottom
Hold scraper with both hands, draw from groove bottom at appropriate angle
Apply sufficient downward pressure to fill the groove with sample
Observe and record fineness value at appropriate angle immediately
Count particles in 3mm wide groove (5-10 particles), take the higher scale reading
Clean immediately after use

Clean and apply anti-rust oil after use
