This electric sand equivalent tester is used to determine the clay or impurity content in fine aggregates (natural sand, manufactured sand, stone dust, particle size ≤4.75mm) to evaluate aggregate cleanliness. It is important testing equipment for asphalt mixture and concrete sand quality control.
Working Principle: After mixing the sample with flushing solution, electric oscillation separates clay and fine impurities from aggregate surfaces, suspending them in the solution. After settling, the piston measures sediment height (h2) and total flocculent height (h1), calculating the sand equivalent value (SE = h2/h1 × 100%). Higher SE values indicate cleaner aggregates.
