Product Features & Attributes
This cross cut guide plate is used for cross cut adhesion testing of organic coatings, suitable for testing plastic and wooden furniture surface coatings (thickness <250μm), as well as adhesion strength testing of sprayed or electroplated products.
Working Principle: Place the guide plate on the coating surface, cut along the guide grooves evenly using a cutting tool to form a grid pattern. Apply standard test tape (3M 610-1PK) and peel off. Observe coating peeling from substrate and evaluate adhesion grade by classification standards.
Applications:
Plastic and wooden furniture coating adhesion testing
Sprayed product surface adhesion testing
Electroplated product surface adhesion testing
Primer-topcoat intercoat adhesion testing
Four Spacing Specifications Available:
Spacing | Applicable Film Thickness | Substrate Type |
|---|---|---|
1mm | 0~60μm | Hard Substrate |
1.5mm | Medium Thickness | Plastic/Wood |
2mm | 61~120μm | Hard/Soft Substrate |
3mm | 121~250μm | Hard/Soft Substrate |
Technical Parameters:
Cut length: 35mm
Number of cuts: 11
Operation Steps:
Place test panel on flat rigid surface
Position guide plate firmly on coating surface
Cut along grooves at 20~50mm/s with uniform pressure
Rotate guide plate 90°, repeat to form cross-hatch grid
Clean debris with soft brush
Apply 3M 610-1PK tape over grid, peel off at small angle
Evaluate coating peeling and determine adhesion grade
Precautions:
Cuts must penetrate coating without cutting too deep into substrate
Test invalid if coating too thick/hard to penetrate
Test at 23±2℃, 50±5%RH
Must use 3M 610-1PK test tape (user supplied)
Maintenance:
Clean and apply light rust-proof oil after use
Lubricate moving parts regularly
Remove batteries for long-term storage
Available in four spacing specifications: 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 3mm to suit different film thicknesses and testing standards.
Mainly used in furniture manufacturers, plastic product factories, coating contractors, electroplating plants, quality inspection institutions, research universities, and more for coating adhesion testing.
