This cement hydration heat tester uses the dissolution heat method (based on Hess's Law: the heat effect of a chemical reaction depends only on the initial and final states of the system, not the reaction path) to determine cement hydration heat. The heat difference between unhydrated cement and hydrated cement dissolved in standard acid represents the hydration heat released at the specified hydration age. Suitable for hydration heat testing of moderate-heat Portland, low-heat slag Portland, ordinary Portland, slag Portland, pozzolanic Portland, fly ash Portland and other cement types at any hydration age.
Test Principle: Unhydrated cement samples and cement samples hydrated to specified ages are each dissolved in standard acid within the calorimeter. The dissolution heat is measured. The difference between unhydrated and hydrated cement dissolution heats represents the hydration heat released at the corresponding age.
