This Buchholz indentation tester is used to determine paint film hardness through indentation testing. It is common equipment for coating hardness testing in paints, automotive, furniture and other industries. Hardness is expressed as the reciprocal function of indentation length (indentation resistance) under specified test conditions.
Working Principle: Place the indentation device on the dried coating surface. Under fixed load (500±5g) and device weight (1kg±5g), hold for a specified time to form an indentation on the coating surface. Measure the indentation length with a reading microscope, calculate indentation resistance as the reciprocal of indentation length to evaluate coating hardness.
