The Asphalt Content Tester (also known as NCAT Ignition Furnace or Asphalt Binder Analyzer) is an environmentally friendly testing device that uses the high-temperature ignition method to rapidly and accurately determine the asphalt binder content in asphalt mixtures. By heating the sample to 538°C (1,000°F), the device completely burns off the asphalt binder while a high-precision built-in electronic balance (0.1g accuracy) monitors mass changes in real-time, automatically calculating the asphalt content.
Compared to traditional solvent extraction methods, the ignition method eliminates the need for toxic chlorinated solvents, avoiding solvent costs and environmental pollution. Testing time is reduced to 30-45 minutes with accuracy of ±0.11%.
